The N67 is FPT Industrial's 6.7-litre six-cylinder marine diesel, and it is the NEF-family engine we can supply in the United States — in ratings from 350 to 570 hp. For most boats on the Great Lakes it is the right answer. Guild Marine is an FPT Industrial dealer in Port Huron, Michigan: we sell them, stock parts for them, service them under warranty, and install them.
FPT's international NEF range is wider than the US one — it runs down to 4-litre four-cylinder engines and ratings around 100 hp. Those are not available to us in the States. What we can supply is the N67 between 350 and 570 hp, and the individual ratings within that band are covered by the spec sheets further down this page.
If you have been reading about an N45 or one of the smaller NEF ratings, tell us what you are trying to power and we will point you somewhere honest, even if that is not at us.
6.7 litres, six cylinders, common rail injection, four valves per cylinder, turbocharged and aftercooled. It is a compact, comparatively light engine for its output, which is part of why it fits into hulls that were originally built around older and physically larger diesels.
Within the 350 to 570 hp band you are choosing what the engine is set up for rather than how well built it is. The lower ratings expect to spend more of their life at higher average load. The top ratings give you more boat speed and assume a pleasure-duty profile to go with it.
Tell us the hull, its loaded displacement, the gear ratio and running gear, and honestly how you use the boat — hours per season, and where the throttle actually sits. That conversation is the whole job, and it is the difference between an engine that is efficient at your real cruising speed and one that never quite settles into it.
We would rather sell you a rating that suits the boat than the top of the band because it sounds better.
An N67 repower is often more straightforward than a Cursor one, because the engine is compact and comparatively light — but it is not a drop-in. Beds may need modifying, exhaust and risers have to suit the new engine, wiring and controls get replaced, and the shaft line wants aligning properly.
We handle all of it in one shop — structural work and fabrication, electrical and plumbing, controls and instrumentation — and sea trial the boat before you take it back. The full process is on our repower page.
We stock and ship genuine FPT parts — filters, impellers, injectors, sensors, gaskets and service kits — and we can carry out warranty work. Have your engine serial number ready when you call; N67 parts vary by build and the serial number is what settles which one you need.
On service: a common rail engine rewards proper diagnosis over parts-swapping. We have the tooling and the shop to chase a fault back to its cause rather than replacing components hopefully and hoping the symptom goes away.
