Guild Marine is an FPT Industrial dealer in Port Huron, Michigan. We sell FPT marine engines, stock and ship genuine FPT parts, carry out warranty and non-warranty service, and install them — which is the part most dealers hand off to somebody else.
FPT's global marine catalogue is wider than what is certified and available in the United States. Rather than quote you an engine you cannot buy, here is the honest list of what we can put in your boat:
If you have been reading FPT's international material and have your eye on an N45, a C13 or one of the smaller NEF ratings, those are not available to us here. We would rather tell you that now than take the order and explain it later.
All three are common rail with four valves per cylinder, turbocharged and aftercooled.
FPT Industrial is the powertrain division of Iveco Group. The name is less familiar in the United States than the engines are: FPT builds the diesels behind Iveco trucks, Case and New Holland equipment, and a great many commercial vessels and pleasure boats in Europe. They have been building marine diesels for decades.
With three engines on the US list, choosing between them is mostly a question of boat size and duty rating rather than trawling a catalogue. The N67 covers most pleasure hulls and light commercial work. The C9 is what you move to when the N67 runs out of top end. The C16 is for large hulls, passenger vessels and boats that have to work for a living.
Duty rating matters more than the horsepower figure. The same block is rated differently depending on how hard and how continuously it will run — which is why the C16 spans 500 to 1,000 hp. A commercial rating assumes long hours at high average load; a high-performance rating assumes the opposite. Tell us the hull, its loaded displacement, the gear ratio and honestly how you use the boat, and we will tell you which rating belongs in it.
We stock and ship genuine FPT parts — filters, impellers, injectors, sensors, gaskets, service kits and the harder-to-find items. Have your engine's serial number ready when you call; FPT parts vary by build and the serial number is what settles it. We ship nationwide, and locals can walk into the Port Huron counter.
We service FPT engines and we can perform warranty work, which matters more than it sounds like it should. An engine line is only as good as the nearest shop that can legitimately open it up, and for a lot of this region that shop is here. Routine servicing, diagnostics, injector and pump work, cooling and exhaust, alignment — and the electronics, which on a common rail engine is frequently where the actual fault turns out to be.
We also work on the boat around the engine. Electrical and plumbing, fuel systems, controls and instrumentation are all in-house, so a problem that turns out not to be the engine does not become somebody else's job.
This is where being both a dealer and a refit yard earns its keep. A repower is rarely just an engine swap: beds usually need fabricating or modifying, exhaust and risers have to be right, wiring and controls get replaced, and the whole thing wants aligning and sea trialling before you accept the boat back. We do all of that here rather than buying an engine from one place and the installation from another.

The engines we supply are certified for the US market — EPA recreational or commercial as appropriate to the rating. Which certification applies depends on the engine and how it is rated, and it is worth pinning down before you order rather than after, especially on a commercial vessel. We confirm it in writing as part of the quote.
